Did the fund earn the cheque?

Yield tells you the rate. CoverCall Ledger tells you whether earnings supported the payment — from issuer financial statements, not marketing copy.

What distribution coverage means

Coverage asks whether the fund earned what it paid — not just the yield on the label. The Dist. coverage column uses accrual basis from issuer filings: at 100% or above it reads Covered; otherwise you see the percentage. Click any row for filing-period total return and the statement line items behind that coverage.

Dist. coverage — the list column

Counts period profit including unrealized gains while holdings are still owned. At 100% or above the table says Covered; otherwise it shows the percentage.

Filing-period total return

The issuer’s unit return for that financial-statement year (often with distributions reinvested). Shown in the fund profile, separate from CoverCall 2026 YTD.

Where the numbers come from

Public issuer filings and the market tape — not a paid data vendor. Spot a mismatch? Use Contact and we’ll look at it.

  • Source: public issuer financial statements / MRFP / N-CSR only — not a paid market-data feed.
  • Dist. coverage column: distribution coverage for the 2025 filing year (accrual basis — unrealized gains included). Shows Covered at 100%+; otherwise the percentage. If financial statements for that year are not published yet (for example a 2026 year before the annual FS / MRFP is out), Dist. coverage stays blank / “not published yet” until the filing is mapped. Filing-period total return and statement line items are in the fund click-through.
  • Launch year: shown in the fund click-through (Tape & YTD / financial section) as inception or first public print. Separate from Dist. coverage and from CoverCall 2026 YTD.
  • Filing-period total return is the issuer’s unit return for that statement year, when mapped. Separate from CoverCall 2026 YTD on the table.
  • Prices: start is Dec 31, 2025 close; current is the latest exchange last (TSX or US), refreshed after the close. We do not have a licensed live NAV feed — this is the most recent public print.
  • Table vs detail: AUM and the latest distribution are on the table. Launch year, start NAV, dist YTD, filing year, filing-period total return, and issuer links are in the fund click-through. AUM is a filing or tape snapshot — not a live feed.
  • Distribution: latest cash payment per unit — month of the ex-date shown (e.g. Jul 2026), plus cadence (per month, per 2 wk, or per quarter). Arrow vs the prior payment. Refreshed when new dividends post.
  • 2026 YTD return: price change from the Dec 31, 2025 close plus cash distributions with 2026 ex-dates, through the latest exchange last. Cash is not reinvested. Funds listed in 2026 use the first print as the start. The latest price is refreshed after the exchange close. Not the issuer MRFP / N-CSR total return.
  • Filings: issuer document page is in the fund click-through.
  • Corrections: if a figure does not match a filing, use Contact. We review reported mismatches; there is no guaranteed turnaround yet.

FAQ

Short answers to how to read the table. Not investment advice.

What is Dist. coverage?

Accrual coverage from the fund’s financial statements for a stated year: period profit including unrealized gains, divided by distributions paid. At 100% or above the table says Covered; otherwise it shows the percentage.

Is this investment advice?

No. This is research information from public issuer filings — not a recommendation to buy or sell. Confirm figures against the issuer’s documents.

What is filing-period total return vs CoverCall 2026 YTD?

Filing-period total return is the issuer’s unit return for that statement year. CoverCall 2026 YTD is price change from the Dec 31, 2025 close plus 2026 cash distributions through the latest exchange last. Cash is not reinvested. They are different windows.
